ParkCAD - Features and Compatibility

• SmartL.O.T Process utilizes space for maximum parking capacity and quickly test different parking scenarios to meet aesthetic, design, and functional needs
• Calculate a designed lot’s maximum parking capacity by having ParkCAD automatically process different row layouts, row rotations, and shifted row positions
• Save, manage, update, and recall multiple parking site design iterations in the review of different parking studies, proposals, or LEED requirements
• Minimize the parking lot footprint area by updating the lot to move in the perimeter boundaries based on oversized drive aisles
• Parking Exclusion Area - define and revise areas where parking should not be generated. Ideal for structures, drive aisles, landscape area, and entrance/exit placements
• Create and simulate vehicles with independent rear steering systems (including crab steering for supported types)

• Support of arcs in lot boundaries for use in the creation of perimeter rows and curved access and internal drive aisles
• Distribute extra drive aisle space by applying center paths (as walkways or green space) to rows
• Existing lots can be updated with on-the-fly changes to boundary geometry and objects
• Ability to change lot perimeter and interior row types using different confirmations including: Flat; Arrow; Bumper-to Bumper Interlock; Herringbone Interlock
• Create parking lots within a bounded area enclosed by lines that represent either no drive through or drive through access
• Use aisle construction lines to check the area required for vehicle parking maneuvers
• Assign separate dimension settings to perimeter and interior rows within a lot

• Distribute excess drive aisle space evenly across all parking rows based on one dimension

• Work with national parking standards from the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand
• Use accessibility parking international standards for ADA, DETR, AFNOR, etc
• Place ISA symbols within and add striped access aisles next to accessibility stalls
• Set and define access aisles (left, right, shared) for vehicle loading zones.
• Addition of United Kingdom (DFT2007) and Spain (PGOUM) national parking standards
• Ability to define and manage accessibility standards rule set through ParkCAD
• Create customized standards using a design wizard to comply with local municipality ordinance

• Newly created parking rows can be saved as a new iteration or used to updated an existing site
• Ability to change individual row types using different confirmations including: Flat; Arrow; Bumper-to Bumper Interlock; Herringbone Interlock
• Ability to select the side of a parking row on which vehicle stalls will display (right; left; both)
• Swap traffic flows, align stalls, and change perimeter or interior stall configurations
• Extend, trim or join parking rows to an intersection complete with connecting islands
• Snap parking rows to perimeter edge or other rows according to predetermined standards
• Align and specify one or two way traffic flow and swap traffic flow direction

• Capability to add or remove wheel stops from individual stalls

• Create custom stall standards and assign symbols/colors for different types of use (police, courtesy, shopping carts, etc)

• Choose different parking island treatments (Concrete; Landscape; Painted; Unassigned) for use in general lot design and cost estimating
• Set design parameters for parking islands (radius, depth, treatment, inner corner radius for convex or concave shapes)
• Set design parameters for mid-islands (radius, width, space between islands)
• Modify end island geometry or draw in desired shapes to suit design requirements
• Generate mid-islands and end islands along a parking row
• Use construction lines to determine the amount of space needed to design custom islands
• Ability to select multiple islands at one time and edit to desired specifications (Outer Radius; Minimum Depth; Inside Corner Radius)

• Quantity Takeoff Reporting – Detail linear footage areas and quantities of parking objects (islands, stalls, etc) with costs assigned for estimates
• Stall Count Reporting – View, save, and share a summary report of numbers and percentages of standard, accessibility, and user-defined stalls
• Create reports of custom created island perimeters and areas based on the individual treatment
• View a summary report of parking standards used, quantities, and areas for selected objects
• Keep a running count of total stalls along a row or within a boundary lot
• Generate reports on overall number and ratio of stalls within a lot or sub-lots
• Define a group of parking rows or lots as a site to aid in reporting or for percentage requirement calculations for accessibility parking
• Custom stalls in reports can be displayed separately as their own line items and quantities
