Transoft Solutions has retired GuidSIGN versions: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. We are unable to answer any technical support questions regarding these earlier releases. Please contact a Transoft Solutions Account Manager to upgrade your GuidSIGN license.
The CD Key is the 12 character alphanumeric key that came with your software package. This key is required, along with your license number, to install GuidSIGN. The Installation Code is the 8 digit number displayed on startup in the Program Authorization dialog. The Authorization Key is the 16 character alphanumeric key used to authorize the software for use beyond the set grace period.
To move GuidSIGN from one Standalone computer to another, please use the Move Program procedure which is outlined in GuidSIGN user’s guide.
Please contact our Sales department via phone at 604.244.8387 or email sales@transoftsolutions.com and they will assess your requirements and ensure your network needs are met.
Please start AutoCAD®. Then type CUI in the command line so that Customize User Interface dialog box is displayed. In the top left section, expand Partial Customization Files and check to see if GuidSIGN is on the list and if it is marked as Unresolved. If you have GuidSIGN on the list and it is marked as Unresolved, please right click on it and unload it. Click on OK to close CUI dialog box and then close AutoCAD®®. Use the GuidSIGN desktop shortcut to start it in AutoCAD®® and confirm that now the GuidSIGN toolbar is displayed.
If MicroStation®V8i is installed after installing GuidSIGN, the toolbar will come up blank (i.e. no icons). Problem can be remedied by copying GuidSIGN.dll, which can be found in GuidSIGN folder, to the C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation\mdlapps\icons folder. This is assuming that your MicroStation®is installed in default location, if you have MicroStation®installed elsewhere please adjust the above path accordingly, i.e. locate mdlapps folder and then if you do not have icons folder already in there, please create it and paste our dll in that icons folder.
Please note that for MicroStation® V8i (Select Series 2), you should copy GuidSIGN.dll file into: C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation® V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\icons Or if you have 64-bit version of Windows, please copy the GuidSIGN.dll to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MicroStation® V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\icons
GuidSIGN ships with interactive step-by-step tutorials and example files. Play the various tutorials to see what GuidSIGN can do. Click Tutorials on the GuidSIGN menu or toolbar. You can also open example files from the GuidSIGN\Examples folder where you will find sample signs and steps to recreate them. Also, check our website Training Services page for Self-Paced, Live Online or Classroom Training options.
Please use the following instructions:
If you are in MicroStation® XM or V8i, type the following in the Action field:
Please note that you should adjust the file path accordingly to where the .ma files are installed on your machine.
You can also create a function key shortcut for unload by going to Workspace -> Function Keys and selecting for example F4 and CTRL, and using the following line:
If you are a MicroStation® user, please go to Workspace -> Preferences -> Look and Feel, and set the Default Tool to Selection.
You should turn off the MicroStation® AccuSnap option. You can do this by going to Settings -> Snaps -> AccuSnap, and then unchecking the first option ‘Enable AccuSnap'.
In MicroStation® V8/XM if you do not allow new level creation, all of GuidSIGN objects will then end up on Default level. In order to prevent that, you should include the following levels in your design file:
Also, please note that the levels on which GuidSIGN places objects can be specified via the GSLevels.ini. Check the GuidSIGN user’s guide for the additional info regarding GSlevels.ini file. This file is supported by GuidSIGN 4.3 and higher.
This example demonstrates how a border can be created inside of a sign separating different kinds of information. This border and the contents within it can be moved as a group and snapped to other objects in the main sign, effectively creating a sign within a sign. To accomplish this effect:
If you wish to add the additional contents to the inner panel, you will need to move it outside of the main panel before that. Symbols and shields can also be added to the inner panel but because the inner panel was created from an Exit Panel Style, it is created as a block/cell. Before you can add symbols or shields to the inner panel, its complex status must be dropped (MicroStation) or it must be exploded (AutoCAD®). All work done on the inner panel should be performed outside of the main panel and once complete the inner panel can be moved inside the main.
First of all, there is the obvious difference of being able to move more than one object with the Move Multiple Objects command. The more subtle difference is that the Move Single Object command allows you to move one object in relation to all other objects in the sign, while the Move Multiple Objects command allows you to move a group of objects relative to another group of objects - excluding all other objects in the sign. This is a very important difference. With the use of the Move Multiple Objects command you can isolate two objects or two groups of objects to align.
Note: Make placing the lane arrow the last step of creating the sign. Updating the panel will not preserve the spacing relationship.
Please browse to the License Server folder. If you have selected a default installation path, then please browse to: C:\Program Files\Transoft Solutions\License Server
Right click on License Server folder, select Properties and click on Security tab. Please check if SYSTEM is on the list and that it has Full Control. If SYSTEM is not on the list or does not have Full Control, please add it and change permissions accordingly to allow Full Control for SYSTEM.
After that, reinstall GuidSIGN.
